On your next family vacation, make plans to visit the actual Make-a-Friend Workshop in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Right in the center of Amish country! Step inside our one room schoolhouse and your cultural adventure begins. Choose between building a wooden barn, train, tractor and wagon or an Amish friend.

Make-A-Friend

To begin making a friend be sure to get your workshop pass and then make your way around to the six different Creation Stations throughout the workshop. Not only will you create a friend from Amish country with authentic handmade clothing, but you will also learn about your friend's culture at two special activity stations. Learn about life inside a one room school house while you practice German calligraphy and try your skill at knotting a quilt at our quilt frame. Finish up by signing and sealing your friendship certificate and ringing the hanging cast iron school bell to celebrate that a friend has been made. Only $20.00!!

Barnyard Builders

Feel like a carpenter? Well grab your hammer and workman's goggles and head over to the workshop bench. Choose your creation - a wooden Lancaster County barn, steam train, or tractor and wagon. We'll supply everything you'll need to build your special creation. All of our wooden pieces have been handcrafted by a local Amish craftsman so your final project will truly be a treasure that lasts for Build a train and take it homeyears to come. A signed Craftsman's Certificate celebrates a job well done!

Make-a-Friend Workshop is nestled among the beautiful rolling fields of Lancaster County. Move away from the busy highways and travel through some of the most picturesque scenery around to Cherry Crest Farm in Paradise! If you'd like, plan on spending the day at Cherry Crest, home of the Amazing Maize Maze and numerous fun barnyard activities just waiting to be enjoyed. Make-a-Friend Workshop at Cherry Crest is easily found on Cherry Road just off of route 741 in Paradise, PA.

Follow PA Turnpike west to Exit 326. Follow 202 south to route 30 west into Gap. Turn left on Route 41 south. Travel 1 mile. Turn right on Route 741 west. Travel approximately 6 miles. Turn right on Cherry Hill Rd. Farm is on the left before the RR tracks. From The Southern Philadelphia/Delaware Area - 60 minutes. Follow Route 95 South, to Route 322west to Route 1 South to Route 41 north. Follow Route 41 north approximately 20 miles to Gap, PA. Turn left on 741 west. Travel approximately 6 miles. Turn right on Cherry Hill Rd. Farm is on the left before the RR tracks.

Follow Route 95 north to Route 272 north. Follow 272 north to Route 1 north to route 10 north. Follow Route 10 north to 41 north. Follow Route 41 north into Gap. Turn left on Route 741west. Travel approximately 6 miles. Turn right on Cherry Hill Rd. Farm is on the left before the RR tracks.
